Glass Breakage:
The glass front of the frame, while durable under normal conditions, may break due to shipping impacts, improper handling, or accidental drops. Broken glass can pose a serious risk of cuts or injury if the frame is damaged.
Precaution: To minimise risk, handle frames with care during unpacking and use. If breakage occurs, avoid touching broken pieces directly. Safely dispose of damaged components using protective gloves to prevent injury.
Weight and Securing:
Frames, especially those with solid wood or larger sizes, can be heavy and require proper mounting to prevent accidents. A frame that is not securely attached to a wall or surface may fall, potentially causing harm or damage to nearby objects.
Precaution: Always use appropriate wall-mounting hardware rated for the frame’s weight. Ensure the frame is mounted on a stable surface and check the security of the mounting periodically. Avoid placing frames in high-traffic areas where they could be bumped or knocked over.
Zinc Alloy Nameplate:
The branding nameplate on the front of the frame is securely attached during manufacturing but may become detached if forcibly picked or pulled. Detached nameplates create a small parts hazard that could pose a choking risk, particularly for young children.
Precaution: Keep frames out of reach of children to prevent unintended handling. Regularly inspect the nameplate to confirm it is securely in place. If the nameplate detaches, remove it immediately and store it safely away from children to avoid any potential hazards.
Keep Out of Reach of Children:
Some of our products contain small or fragile components that may pose risks if handled improperly by children. To minimise potential hazards, we strongly advise keeping all products out of reach of young children.
- Choking Hazards: Some products include small parts, such as branding nameplates or decorative elements. These parts could detach under certain conditions, posing a choking risk to young children. We recommend inspecting products regularly to ensure all components are secure.
- Sharp Edges: Items like photo slates or frames with broken glass may have sharp edges. These can cause cuts or abrasions if mishandled. Always handle these items with care and keep them out of children’s reach to prevent injury.
- Heavy Items: Larger or heavier products, such as solid wood frames or larger photo slates, can cause injury if they fall from a height or are not properly secured. Ensure these items are mounted securely or placed on stable surfaces, and avoid placing them in areas where children might interact with them.
Photo Slate Product Safety Warnings
Sharp Edges:
Photo slates feature natural edge variations that contribute to their unique appearance. However, these edges may have sharp points, which could cause minor cuts or abrasions if handled carelessly. Additionally, the sharp edges may scratch delicate surfaces if the slate is not positioned securely on its accompanying stand.
Precaution: Always handle photo slates with care, avoiding direct contact with the edges. Use the provided stand to securely position the slate and protect underlying surfaces. When moving the slate, ensure it is lifted rather than slid across surfaces to avoid scratching.
Fragility:
Made from natural stone, photo slates are inherently fragile and can break or chip if dropped or subjected to strong impacts. Sharp fragments from broken slate may pose a risk of injury if not handled properly.
Precaution: Avoid dropping or striking the slate against hard surfaces. Handle the slate with both hands and ensure it is placed on a stable surface or securely mounted on its stand. In the event of breakage, wear gloves when collecting fragments and dispose of them safely to prevent injury.
Weight:
The weight of the slate, combined with its dimensions, may pose a risk of injury if it is mishandled or falls from a height. This is particularly important for larger slates, which can be more difficult to hold securely.
Precaution: Always lift the slate with both hands, ensuring a firm grip. When displaying the slate, place it on a sturdy surface or securely on the provided stand to prevent tipping or falls. Avoid placing slates on high or unstable surfaces where they may fall and cause injury.
Improper Use and Associated Risks
To ensure the safety and longevity of your products, we ask that you follow all provided guidelines. Misuse or unintended handling may lead to damage or injury, and could void any warranty coverage.
- Breakage of fragile components, posing a risk of injury.
- Damage to the product or surrounding property.
- Loss of any warranty coverage or the assumption of liability for damages caused by such misuse.
By purchasing and using our products, customers agree to follow the guidance provided and acknowledge that any deviation from intended use absolves A Gift of Happiness of liability.
